Frequently asked questions

Is your valuation accepted by Homes England?
Our Help to Buy valuations are prepared to meet Homes England’s requirements, including an internal inspection, comparable sales evidence and a signed valuation report. We’ll confirm your scheme and any specific requirements before accepting your instruction. Final acceptance rests with Homes England.
How long does a Help to Buy valuation take?
The inspection is usually shorter than a home survey, depending on the property’s size and complexity. Afterwards, we research comparable sales and prepare your report. We’ll confirm the expected delivery timescale when you book. If you have a planned completion date, please let us know.
How long is the valuation report valid for?
Your report is valid for three months from the date it is produced. If it expires before you complete your repayment, contact us within two weeks of expiry to discuss whether an extension or desktop valuation is available under Homes England’s requirements. Additional fees may apply.
Do you carry out valuations for part repayment?
Yes. We provide valuations for both full and partial repayment of Help to Buy equity loans. Homes England uses the valuation to calculate the amount payable. Please tell us how much of the loan you intend to repay and provide any instructions you have received.
What happens after I receive the report?
You should send your valuation report to Homes England within five days of issue, together with your repayment application and any other required documents. Homes England will review it and confirm the next steps and repayment amount. Your solicitor will then help arrange completion, where required.
Do you need to see any documents?
Please provide your Help to Buy account reference, details of your scheme and any valuation instructions or correspondence from Homes England. Let us know about alterations, significant defects or cladding concerns. For leasehold properties, we may also need the remaining lease term, ground rent and service-charge details. We’ll confirm what is needed before your appointment.
